Direct answer: Your tenant is sent the written notice at the rental address, and we print and mail it Certified once you approve. Florida Statutes section 83.56(4) says delivery "shall be by mailing, delivering a true copy thereof, e-mailing in accordance with s. 83.505," or leaving a copy if the tenant is absent.

What does Florida law say about mailing a notice?

Florida Statutes section 83.56, subsection (4), says: "The delivery of the written notices required by subsections (1)-(3) shall be by mailing, delivering a true copy thereof, e-mailing in accordance with s. 83.505, or, if the tenant is absent from the premises, by leaving a copy thereof at the residence. The notice requirements of subsections (1)-(3) may not be waived in the rental agreement." The statute says mailing without naming a class of mail.

Which notices does that cover?

Subsections (1) through (3) cover the written notices in that section, including the landlord's notice for unpaid rent. The statute's rent notice form demands "payment of the rent or possession of the premises within 3 days (excluding Saturday, Sunday, and legal holidays) from the date of delivery of this notice." A 3-day window is shorter than USPS First-Class Mail's 1-5 business days, so plan the mail date with that in mind and talk to your attorney about how mailing affects your count. USPS delivery times vary.

Certified or First-Class for a Florida notice?

Either is mailing. Certified Mail adds a USPS mailing record and tracking events; neither guarantees delivery. Certified Mail is $1.15 plus the current USPS Certified Mail fee, which USPS publishes in Notice 123. You see the full price before you approve. We don't offer paper Return Receipt yet.

How do you send it with USMail.ai?

You upload. You approve. We produce. Upload the notice you wrote, type the tenant's address, pick Certified Mail, check the proof and the full price, and approve. A person always approves; nothing prints before that. We print, envelope and hand it to USPS. From our own production floor: we print, envelope and hand each piece to USPS, and you see the proof and the full price before you approve. Every address comes from you. We check every address before mailing, and the AI never suggests or adds one. If plans change, you can unapprove an approved job before its mail date, and the money goes back on your meter balance, not your card.

Letters starting at $1.15, postage included. For a one-page, single-sided, black-and-white First-Class letter. USMail.ai is an AI print-to-mail platform, not USPS. Other states are on the eviction notices hub, and the Texas rule is on Texas eviction notice? Send it Certified.

What should you keep for your records?

Keep a copy of the notice exactly as mailed, the mail date, and the USPS tracking events if you sent it Certified. Your attorney or the clerk can tell you what to attach when you file. We don't promise how a court will treat any record.

What should you keep for your records?

Keep a copy of the notice exactly as you approved it, the date you approved the job, and the mail date. If you chose Certified Mail, save the USPS tracking events as they post. Those records show what you sent and when it went to USPS. They don't prove what the tenant received, and we don't promise how a court will treat them. If you send the same notice to more than one adult on the lease, give each person their own letter with their own name and address, so every record matches one person. Your attorney or your court's self-help center can tell you what to bring if the case goes forward.

When does a Florida notice count as delivered?

The statute lists mailing as a delivery method, but it doesn't tell you how to count days after mailing, and county clerks and attorneys may handle that differently. Ask your attorney or the clerk before you set the date on the notice. Then pick a mail date with room to spare, because USPS delivery times vary and we don't promise a delivery date. If a statute calls for a return receipt, your attorney can confirm the method for that piece; we don't offer paper Return Receipt yet.
