Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy describes how Broadstroke, Inc. (“we,” “us,” “USMail”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use USMail.ai — the marketing site at www.usmail.ai and the product application at app.usmail.ai (together, the “Services”). USMail is operated from 820 W 2nd St N, Wichita, KS 67203. USMail.ai is not the U.S. Postal Service.

This policy covers all end users of the Services: people who visit without an account (“Visitors”), people who purchase mailing services (“Mailers”), and people who subscribe to paid or premium features (“Members”). Please read it carefully. Use of the Services is also governed by our Terms of Use.

Data summary

Information we collect and how it is used

We collect information in different ways from Visitors, Mailers, and Members. We use it primarily to provide the Services — accounts, prepaid meters, job setup, proofs, print, insert, postage, and handoff to the United States Postal Service (“USPS”). We generally do not share this information with third parties. We may disclose personal information if we have received your permission beforehand, or in the special circumstances described below.

Registration

Mailers and Members may be asked to provide name, mailing address, email address, and telephone number when they create an account. That information is used to manage the account (including billing contact). It is not shared with third parties unless specifically stated otherwise or in special circumstances.

Payment information

Credit card information is not requested during registration. When a card is used to fund a meter or pay for a job, the transaction is handled entirely by our payment gateway provider(s). The only information made available to us is approval or denial, amount, and other data needed to complete the transaction. Card numbers are never acquired or stored by USMail, and therefore are not stored on our Site.

Partners and sponsors

Some products or services may be offered with an affiliate, independent contractor, or non-affiliated partner. To provide those products or services, the partner may need to collect and maintain personal information. In those instances you will be notified before any such data is collected or transferred, and you may decide not to use that feature.

Email and support inquiries

When you send an email or open a support request, a customer-support ticket is created and the return address is stored with that ticket so we can answer you. We do not use that return address for other purposes and do not share it with third parties except as needed to operate support.

Voluntary customer surveys

We may periodically conduct customer surveys. Participation is voluntary. Personal information and responses remain confidential, even if a third party administers the survey. We may combine responses without personal identifying information to create aggregated, generic results (for example industry sector or other demographics) and use that aggregated information to improve the Services. Aggregated, non-personally identifying information may be shared with third parties.

Special cases

It is our policy not to use or share personal information about Visitors, Mailers, or Members in ways unrelated to those described here without giving you an opportunity to opt out or otherwise prohibit such unrelated uses.

We may disclose personal information, or information about your use of the Services, if in our sole discretion we believe it is reasonable to do so, including to credit agencies, collection agencies, merchant-database agencies, law enforcement, or to satisfy laws such as the Electronic Communications Privacy Act and the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act, or other governmental or legal requests; to identify, contact, or bring legal action against someone who may be violating our Terms of Use or other policies; to operate the Services properly; or to protect USMail and our Mailers and Members.

You also authorize USMail and its vendors and contractors to cooperate when necessary and appropriate with the USPS and any U.S. or non-U.S. law-enforcement or governmental agency, including voluntary disclosure of Your Information and your Content.

Third-party customer information

As part of the Services you will upload customer data, marketing communications, creative materials, and documents. Full ownership of those data files and materials remains with the rightful owners. We process that data solely to provide data processing, printing, and mailing services. We do not use it for any additional purpose and do not disclose your customer’s data to any other organization or individual outside the scope of the requested services, except as otherwise noted in this policy or the Terms of Use.

We may disclose aggregated user statistics to describe our services to prospective customers, potential partners, or acquirers, and to other third parties for lawful purposes.

Notice of compliance to California residents

This policy identifies the categories of personally identifiable information we collect through our website or online service, and the categories of third parties with whom we may share that information.

We do not maintain a process for an individual Visitor to review and request changes to personally identifiable information collected through the marketing site. Mailers and Members can log in at app.usmail.ai and access, review, and change the personally identifiable information stored in their account.

For California compliance, “personally identifiable information” means individually identifiable information about an individual consumer collected online by us and maintained in an accessible form, and may include: (1) a first and last name; (2) a home or other physical address, including street name and city or town; (3) an email address; (4) a telephone number; (5) any other identifier that permits physical or online contacting of a specific individual; and (6) information we collect online from the user and maintain in personally identifiable form together with an identifier described in this policy.

The third parties with whom we may share personally identifiable information are limited to affiliated partners and/or vendors of products or services that a Visitor, Mailer, or Member might purchase from the Services when that product or service is not sold or supported directly by us.

Under California Law SB 27, California residents have the right to receive, once a year, information about third parties with whom we have shared information about you or your family for their marketing purposes during the previous calendar year, if any, and a description of the categories of personal information shared. To make such a request, email info@usmail.ai with the phrase “California Privacy Request,” plus your name, address, and email address. We will respond within thirty days of receiving the request.

Cookies and analytics

A cookie is a small data file that can be placed on your device when you visit certain websites. We may use cookies to collect, store, and sometimes track information for statistical purposes and to improve the Services. If you are a Visitor, Mailer, or Member we may use a cookie to manage your online sessions, save settings, and provide personalized services. These cookies do not enable third parties to access your customer information. If you visit sites that require login or are customizable, you may be required to accept cookies.

The marketing site uses Google Analytics (gtag G-KCT0CVV4BW) to measure visits. The site may also load fonts or scripts from third-party CDNs. Those providers process technical requests according to their own policies. Advertisers and partners may also use their own cookies. We do not control those cookies and disclaim responsibility for information collected through them.

Children’s privacy

Protecting children’s privacy is especially important to us. It is our policy to comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 and all other applicable laws. We restrict the Services to persons eighteen years or older.

You must be eighteen (18) years or older to access the Services. If you are under eighteen years of age, you are not permitted to access the Services for any reason. Because of that age restriction, information obtained by the Services does not fall within COPPA and is not monitored as doing so.

Public forums

Any information you disclose in a member directory, discussion forum, or other public area of our websites or the Internet becomes public information. Exercise caution before disclosing personal information in those areas.

Data security

The Services have security measures in place to protect against loss, misuse, and alteration of the information under our control. While we make every effort to ensure the integrity and security of our network and systems, we cannot guarantee that our security measures will prevent third-party attackers from illegally obtaining this information.
